Op het moment dat Kodak de Six-16 Brownie camera’s geïntroduceerd in de Verenigde Staten, waren ze niet in staat aan de vraag te voldoen voor de nieuwe 616 film op de wereldmarkt, daarom werd deze camera voor de export geproduceerd.
Een kleine oplage werd verkocht in de VS.

The No.2A camera is a basic box camera using 116 film with a Kodak Doublet lens. As a mostly export-only model these are less common than other Brownie.
At the time Kodak introduced the six-20 Brownie cameras in the USA, they were unable to supply 620 film worldwide, therefore they produced the Brownie Special cameras for export. A few where sold in the USA.
